American Tire Distributor

Business Dashboard

CLIENT BACKGROUND

American Tire Distributors (ATD) is one of the largest tire distributors in America. They have several digital products that are used by their customers to sell tires and manage their tire shops.

OPPORTUNITY

Create a dashboard for ATD customers that allows them to get insights into their business that also serves as a launch pad for all other ATD digital products.

SKILLS

Project Kickoff

Business Stakeholders workshop

We brought together UX, Product, and key business stakeholders for a workshop where we were determining the general requirements. We wanted to everyone to be aligned on what phase one looks like, what future state looks like, main objectives, and road map for the project.

Lo-FI Designs

CO-DESIGN SESSIONS

After the workshop and having collect objectives, we were able to move onto design iterations.

Design Iterations

STAKEHOLDER FEEDBACK

After the first round of design, we presented to stakeholders and received the following feedback:

  • It was determined that the dashboard was now going to live inside the existing ATD Online site. Therefore, we needed to stick to that navigation.

  • They liked the store information we included and the treatment of the Top Apps, wanted to move forward with those.

  • Although they liked all of the different store insights that we thought of, realistically we would not be able to include all of the in phase one. They wanted us to only include what we could currently pull from Torqata (ATD’s child company that hold data and insights for customers.

DESIGN CHANGES

Based off the feedback provided, we made changes to our designs that addressed everything we heard from stakeholders.

Testing & Hi-Fi Designs

TESTING

We took the designs above and tested with real ATD users. Some main questions we focused on:

Is this information useful for you?

Is it clear what data is being shown?

Do users understand how to access the dashboard?

Is there anything else we could be showing to enhance usage?

RESULTS

Overall the dashboard tested well. Feedback we received:

  • Didn’t understand if this was only for their area - need a better call out.

  • Wanted to understand how ATD got this information - Added info.

WHERE WE LANDED

  • Easy access to launch other ATD products.

  • Location specific data for users and call outs to make it clear what the data is and where it came from.

PLATFORM UPGRADE

ATD was in the middle of a complete redesign when this project kicked off. The ask was to create this in the current site so they could develop it now. Then we were asked to take the designs and create them with the updated styles of the redesign project.
